COURSE DURATION: 46 WEEKS

Graduates of the programme will have acquired the necessary skills for employment as a Hairdressing apprentice or Beauty counter assistant, or for receptionist, or front house duties in other customer services industries such as hospitality, travel and tourism. They will also be eligible for entry to training and education in these fields.

What will i learn

Training is based on selected NQF unit standards covering the following:
• Personal Development / Life skills (Generic units)
• Professional hairdressing workplace practices (Generic and field units)
• Practical hair and make-up skills (Field units)
(Hairdressing support skills; cosmetic services including skin analysis, day, evening and bridal make-up, lash and brow tinting, cosmetic retailing, reception and front-of-house skills)

Entry Criteria

Open to candidates who meet criteria for funding through the Youth Training programme

Qualifications Gained

• 20 NQF credits towards National Certificate in Salon Support Level 2
• 10 NQF credits towards Certificate in Make-up Artistry Level 4
• 6 NQF generic credits
