Go from complete novice to technical level, capable of earning your place in a successful salon – or qualifying for entry to the New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (Emerging Stylist) (Level 4).

Course Content
In this exciting course, you'll be immersed in various techniques for cutting, colouring and styling. Then, put your newfound skills to the test in our on-site salon to build your confidence and creative flair.
We'll also teach you how to sell yourself to future employers with networking skills, sales techniques and communication skills.

Build your own portfolio

Entry Requirements
Entry is open to beginners and all applicants are considered however you must be:
- Able to demonstrate a basic understanding of spoken and written English
It is also advisable that applicants have completed NCEA Level 1 (or equivalent) and it is the Academy's preference that candidates are interviewed before enrolment in order to ensure their success.
Career Opportunities
You will be able to provide basic hairdressing services under the supervision of a senior operator and demonstrate customer service skills both over the telephone and face-to-face.
You may also find employment as a hairdresser or stylist in a salon or fashion event.
Qualifications Awarded
- New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing Salon Support - Level 3
- NZQA credits towards the National Certificate in Hairdressing (Professional Stylist) - Level 4
